this lore is insane; smth like this actually happened in my family once, i occasionally also get this mindset but not in a violent way, more fearful and untrusting than anything; its called capgras syndrome if u wanna look it up, personally its happened since childhood w my mother. wish more games had representation of it :3 (i am doing better mentally now btw)

Thanks so much for taking the time to check out the game and leave a comment :3

I'm glad you enjoyed it, but at the same time, I'm sorry to hear you've been through similar stuff cos I wouldn't wish that on anyone >.< It must be extremely scary and really tough to go through in general!

But yeah, it was attending a theatrical performance about capgras syndrome that inspired me to make this bitesize game! :D

Before the performance, I'd never heard of it, but I've always been fascinated by different aspects of psychology and the human mind, so I figured it would be an interesting subject to attempt to explore.

Since this game is pretty old now and one of the first games I ever made, looking back on it, I do wonder if it's entirely appropriate for the current day >.< It's hard to tell whether it could be considered exploitative of a condition for the purpose of entertainment. I don't know... but I'm relieved that you found enjoyment in the game rather than it having a negative impact on you :3

I just worry when it comes to horror as a genre in general whether or not I might accidentally hurt someone or trigger them. Cos back when I started making games, trigger warnings and things weren't quite as prevalent as they are today (man, that makes me feel old >.<), so I guess in some of my older stuff, the warnings aren't as detailed as they could be.

Anyways, I will shut up because I ramble too much x3 I'm glad to hear that you're doing better mentally now at least :3 That's the main thing!

While I may not have personal experience with capgras syndrome, I've got a lot of past trauma that I carry with me, and which undoubtedly still has an impact on me even now >.< Therapy is ongoing though, so, with any luck, someday I'll be able to say that I'm also doing a bit better in that department x3

therapy twinsies!! gl w ur future projects + imo i think this is surprisingly good at not romanticizing Capgras syndrome so dw bout it, but everyones opinion and experience is diff <33

I just played the game got all the endings , i loved it it was so good and incredible i hope your future works see the same success :>.

Thanks so much for checking it out! And for sticking around to see all the endings :3

I'm still hoping to remake this someday in the engine I use now since the one I originally used to make this was a bit clunky, haha. Not sure when I'll get around to it, but I'd like to have it on Steam someday.

Cheers for all your kind words <3

what all ending there is just one end

Cheers for checking out this tiny game :3

If you need help finding the different endings, there is a walkthrough guide here:

thanks by the way

Please, help!!! How can i pass that puzzle with the letters??? When i reloaded it was a different letter...

I'm probably not going to be able to help much, but I'll repost the other comment I put on the guide to the same question >.<should have the It can be a bit clunky though >.< If it won’t work, you might have to reload an older save or something :(

Sadly, the engine I used to make this years ago was a bit dodgy, which is why I switched to something else after x3

Thanks for checking out the game btw! :3

This is the copy/paste comment:

I’m not really sure if I can help because it all worked when I tested it years ago, and I saw some people play through it on YouTube and complete the puzzle >.<

Unfortunately, I can’t even take a look at the files cos this project is so old I don’t use the same engine anymore + I lost the original project files years ago :(

I do hope to completely remake it from scratch in the engine I use now though at some point :3 With any luck, that will make it less clunky! Cos the engine I originally used to make it was kinda buggy >.< That’s why I switched to something else after I finished Impostor, haha.

Thank you for checking out the game though :3 And sorry I can’t be of more help >.<

(edit: also, this probably still isn't of much help... but if you do happen to press 1 wrong button during the puzzle, anything you press after that will be automatic failure pretty much >.<

So, for example, you press 'K' first, it will buzz for wrong, you then try to press 'I', but that will still be wrong because it's already looking for the 'M' at that point rather than the 'I'. If that makes any sense.

Basically, you have to get every single one right in the right order. If you click 1 wrong, you would need to reload from a point before the puzzle began and start again or it will always end as failed >.<)

what a great game!! it was short and sweet but i actually grew really attached to our partner! regardless of what the "truth" is, they really do love deeply, and that was conveyed so well

Thanks so much for checking it out :D I still really need to get around to remaking this in the engine I use nowadays so it’s less clunky, haha. The problem is, I lost the original files, so it will have to be done from scratch >.< haha.

oh no! well if you do remake it, i’ll def be one of the firsts to play : )
